Don was raised in various places throughout the U.S. due to the military career of his father. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Evangel College, a Master of Divinity degree from The Master’s Seminary and a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. He is seasoned teacher who enjoys exploring the wonders of God’s Gospel in Scripture and sharing his discoveries with others. He is a tremendous facilitator, enthusiastically leading studies that encourage interaction, mutual learning and encouragement.

He has 20 years of counseling experience, serving individuals in both military and civilian contexts with problems ranging from PTSD to marriage conflict.

Don and his wife, Ronni, have been married for 22 years and have four children: Caleb, Luke, Regan, and Reece. They live in Olympia, WA. In addition to their ministry activities, the Brewers enjoy hiking, fishing, snowshoeing, running, Gonzaga basketball, volleyball, and eating.

The guys involved with SLCC have been ministers of grace to me through teaching and counseling in some really dark times. The truth of God’s unconditional grace that drives what SLCC is all about has been what I need
